Technical Tip Tuesday Presented by DocuSketch
How Technology Improves Accuracy in Restoration Sketching
Learn how tech-driven documentation protects your team and prevents costly disputes in the restoration claims process
This week’s Technical Tip focuses on how technology can improve your accuracy and protect your team when documenting on the job. When you’re creating sketches, use your best judgment. Here’s the approach Holly recommends:
- Start in the center of the room.
- Don’t forget the closet. Pro tip: Even if it’s packed, do your best to capture its width and depth. Move items if needed for accuracy.
- In kitchens, cover all sides of the island.
Two reason why it matters:
- Accuracy: More photos = better sketches and cleaner timelines.
- Protection: Documentation can save you from costly disputes.
A few years ago, an owner called Holly about a claim where a customer accused his team of stealing a Nike shoebox full of cash and a coin jar from a closet. Because the team had documented the closet, Holly was able to help the client find the photos of both items in the closet. That evidence protected the team from paying for something they didn’t take.
Technology isn’t just about speed. It’s about accuracy, protection and professionalism. Thank you, Holly Baldwin, Senior Customer Success Manager at DocuSketch for this week’s tip. Stay tuned for next week’s tip.Looking for a reprint of this article?
