Technical Tip Tuesday Presented by AG Pro Training
Building a Training Roadmap for Long-Term Success
How structured employee development plans support business growth, future leaders, and technical expertise in restoration
We’re back with another month of Technical Tip Tuesday. This month’s series is sponsored by AG Pro Training.
Alexandra Gualtieri, owner of AG Pro Training, discusses one of the most important yet often overlooked elements of running a successful business: creating a structured training and career development plan.
Many restoration businesses approach training reactively. A new employee is hired, a certification is required, or a state regulation changes, and suddenly training becomes a priority. Certifications and industry education are essential, but there is a gap when it comes to having a development plan.
The most successful businesses take an intentional approach by building a training roadmap that guides their employees from their first day to becoming a trusted technical expert and future leader.
The process should begin with business goals, not certifications. Before deciding what training an employee needs, leadership should ask where they want the business to be in the next five years. Are they pursuing more commercial work? Expanding services? Building a leadership pipeline? The answers to those questions help shape the training roadmap.
A strong training roadmap includes several key stages:
- New Hire Foundation
- Technical Competency
- Confidence and Independence
- Developing Experts and Future Leaders
