Ready or not, the past year just came to an abrupt close. For some, the new year simply serves as an opportunity to change out the calendar hung on the wall; I like to think of the new year as more of an opportunity to makes changes and improvements in one’s life – and shouldn’t such a focus also extend to professional life?

Back when I was in high school—before many of you readers were born—our driver’s education course was based on the Smith System® of driving. 

Take a moment to think back through 2016. What changed in your life this year? What changes did you notice in the community, state, and even world around you? What headlines come to mind? 

Ask any R&R company owner what his/her greatest challenge is and they’ll most likely speak to the ebbs and flows of sales/cash flow seemingly inherent in our industry.
