Rebuild Raises $13M+ to Modernize the $100B Restoration Industry
AI platform helps restoration contractors cut claim cycle times by more than 50% and increase reimbursements by over 10%

Rebuild, the AI operating system for the property restoration industry, today announced it has raised more than $13 million in new funding from Asymmetric Capital Partners, Gutter Capital, 25madison, Lightbank, and Green Egg Ventures. The company will use the new capital to expand its New York City team across engineering, sales, and customer success as it builds the technology infrastructure for the $100 billion restoration industry.
When a pipe bursts, a home floods, or a hurricane tears through a neighborhood, restoration contractors are often among the first businesses called. But the process of getting a family back into their home still relies on workflows that have changed little in decades: documenting damage, building estimates line by line, navigating insurance requirements, and repeatedly revising claims before work can move forward.
Rebuild is using AI to compress that process from weeks into hours.
The Rebuild platform automates the complex administrative work that happens between a contractor arriving at a property and getting a claim approved and paid. Rebuild customers are cutting claim cycle times by more than 50% while increasing reimbursements by over 10%, allowing contractors to begin and complete work faster while improving the economics of each project.
Demand has followed. Rebuild has grown revenue nearly 5x over the past year and is now used by operators across some of the largest restoration networks in the country, including Servpro, ServiceMaster, and Belfor.
“Our project manager can now stand in front of the customer and hand them a complete estimate for all the water mitigation they need before leaving the house,” said the owner of a large ServiceMaster location. “We’ve seen an increase in leads and close rates because of it, and our profitability is up.”
Rebuild was born inside the industry it is now working to transform. Founder and CEO Alex Toporek grew up around his father’s restoration business in the Northeast and saw firsthand how much time experienced operators lost to paperwork, estimating, and insurance administration — time that ultimately delayed recovery for homeowners. Toporek initially built Rebuild to solve those problems inside the family business. Since adopting the technology, the company has reduced its own claim cycle times by more than 70%.

“Restoration contractors are doing incredibly important work at some of the worst moments in their customers’ lives, but they’ve been asked to do it with technology that hasn’t kept pace with the complexity of the industry,” said Toporek. “This financing gives us the resources to change that. Our goal is to give contractors the tools to move dramatically faster so that, when disaster strikes, recovery can start immediately.”
The opportunity is growing as extreme weather events increase the frequency and severity of property damage while labor shortages put additional pressure on restoration businesses to do more with existing teams. At the same time, advances in AI are making it possible to automate workflows that historically required hours of specialized manual work.
“This product creates unparalleled value for its customers, on the order of 50 to 100x ROI,” said Rob Biederman of Asymmetric Capital Partners. “Rebuild is tackling a massive, essential industry where better software translates directly into better business outcomes for contractors and faster recovery for homeowners.”
“Rebuild stands at the intersection of three macro trends; the restoration industry is undergoing generational transformation, extreme weather events are on the rise, and AI unlocks the potential for software to actually do work for SMBs. These three factors made Rebuild a standout opportunity for Gutter,” said Dan Teran of Gutter Capital.
“I joined Alex for the first customer conversations, early in Rebuild’s ideation phase. It was obvious from the get-go that an AI-native solution would be a game-changer for the industry, and that Alex was the perfect founder to build it.” said Grant Silow of 25madison
With the new funding, Rebuild will continue expanding beyond estimating and claims into the other high-friction workflows that restoration contractors manage every day. The company’s long-term vision is to build the operating system behind the restoration industry — helping contractors respond faster, operate more efficiently, and ultimately get families back home sooner.
