TradeTalks: Unlocking The Experience
Workforce Development, Inclusion, and Standards
Ryan Tasovac of Peckham shares how inclusive hiring, workforce development, and employee retention
Welcome back to another episode of TradeTalks: Unlocking The Experience. This week we’re joined by Ryan Tasovac, Senior VP of Custodial Services at Peckham. Ryan has an extensive background in leadership, professional development, onboarding, and technical proficiency. Ryan is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI). He previously served on the Board of Directors for the IICRC and served as Vice Chair of Cleaning and Inspection Standards Committees.
Listen on the go!
Key highlights of this episode include:
- Ryan found his way into custodial/facilities management by accident early in his career. He started at a park district front desk and moving into maintenance for more hours. Which led him from schools to facility leadership and then onto organizations that employ individuals with disabilities.
- Ryan’s session is about how companies can partner with vocational rehabilitation agencies to source and train talent, while using accommodations and a people-first approach to build stronger custodial teams and better business outcomes.
- His session offers a potential major workforce solution, especially in an industry facing high turnover. He shared that his team’s turnover is about 8% versus an industry norm of roughly 200%–300%, showing how inclusion, culture, and the right support can dramatically improve retention and performance.
- Fun fact: He’s a “standards nerd,” very sarcastic, and unusually direct. Another fun fact about Ryan is that he attended Catholic school from kindergarten through high school and was an altar boy.
For more information about Ryan’s his session on Thursday, September 10 from 9:10 – 9:40 am, you can visit The Experience agenda. We can’t wait to see you at The Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV from September 9 -11, 2026. To register and learn more about the event, click here.
