There are three ways to bill for contents cleaning: by the hour, by the box and by the item. 

There are indeed a lot of marketing programs out there to choose from. And while many of them are good, some of them miss the mark entirely. There is no one thing or a “magic bullet” if you will when it comes to marketing in this industry. 

 When deciding whether to pack out or clean in-place, I ask myself the following questions: 

You’ve grown tired of the paper lists, the data entry discrepancies and the all-around hassle of relying on out-dated methods to handle packouts and inventories for your restoration clients. 

The use of de-ionized water, combined with specialized detergents, has revolutionized electronics cleaning and restoration in many ways. Water-based solutions are the safest and most effective way to clean today’s modern electronics. 

Adjusters, long-time contractors and even self-styled “experts” will try to tell you that it is impossible to restore wet books, film, electronics and even photographs.

Expanding into contents cleaning is a very good profit center to add to any restoration business. It has one of the highest profit margins in the industry if you have a good systemized process and well trained staff.

Do not try to interpret an insurance policy and commit an adjuster by speaking for them. If you work at being the solution partner for both parties involved, you will ensure a win for everyone.

It depends on what services you are going to handle completely in house and what aspects of the cleaning and restoration you will sub to other specialty contractors.
