Within this issue of R&R, we’ve talked about drying out spaces, when to demo, when not to demo, where to potentially place drying equipment, and so on.

Upon waking up in the morning, most people instinctively reach for their mobile phone.

Hurricane Georgia left a trail of destruction that ravaged thousands of homes along the Atlantic coastline. In the days that followed, hundreds of restoration companies from all over the country mobilized resources to help put lives back together.

With the beginning of each new year comes a new set of business objectives. These likely include increasing revenue and “improving our visibility in the market,” or, “more effectively communicating the meaning and value of our brand” to certain market segments or potential customers. What we’re describing with all of these statements is, in a word, marketing.

A variety of data technology innovations over the years have led the way to new and improved processes in the property claims/risk assessment space. Those innovations have aimed to improve the manual functions routinely conducted in the field.

The use of thermal imaging has become pretty common in the restoration industry. Detecting a temperature difference behind a wall can save big bucks and time by avoiding the need for demolition, and give remediators an early idea where the source of a water problem may lie.
