Official: Mold "not a factor" in Des Moines school repairs
Repairs
planned at the Moulton Extended Learning Center are not connected to a mold
outbreak, but the improvements will
correct moisture infiltration problems related to the structure’s age, said Bill Good, chief
operations officer for Des Moines schools.
The school board is expected today to approve an exterior wall restoration project at the nearly century-old building, located at 1541 Eighth St. It is one of four Des Moines schools slated to undergo roof or wall restoration work to correct moisture issues this summer.
