Trade Talks: Unlocking The Experience
Advocacy, Bourbon, and Breaking Industry Myths
Welcome back to another season of TradeTalks Unlocking The Experience. We’ve missed you. Our first guest of the season is Robbie Bradshaw, Director of Government Relations for the IICRC. On this episode, we get to know Robbie, more about his role at the IICRC, what attendees can expect from his session and learn a fun fact that most don’t know.
Listen on the go!
Topics of discussion include:
- Why Robbie got into advocacy. He felt the industry needed a voice. The industry has welcomed Robbie and his role with open arms, saying “We’re so glad we have someone who can finally advocate for our work and why it matters.”
- Outside of his day-to-day work, music gives Robbie a creative escape from policy work. Through his music, he tells stories, researches ideas and facts, and has fun with it! You can listen to his music and shop his merch, here!
- With the roles he has, comes a lot of responsibility. Whether he’s advocating, performing, or showing up as a husband, he feels accountable to people who are counting on him, and that drives how and why he works the way he does.
- Through his session this fall, he wants attendees to see advocacy as accessible. His biggest goal is to break the myth that advocacy is only for a small group behind closed doors and show that everyone in the industry can play a vital role.
- Fun Fact about Robbie: He collects bourbon. He has around 110 bottles on display at home, and all of them are open.
