Cotton Holdings
January 11, 2022

Cotton Holdings, Inc. announced that Jeff Erler, formerly general counsel, has been promoted to chief legal officer, reporting directly to Pete Bell, founder and CEO, effective immediately. He is the first person to hold the position with the company. Erler will continue to lead the company’s legal and risk departments, with responsibility for all legal, regulatory, governance and compliance matters and strategies, including a particular focus on the company’s organic and acquisitive growth strategies.

“Jeff is a proven executive and advisor with extensive legal expertise that helps us achieve our long-term strategic goals. Jeff’s business-minded approach, legal acumen and depth of insight around a wide range of governance, compliance, and merger-and-acquisition matters are a significant asset to our organization. Most importantly, Jeff understands the importance of culture and building great teams,” said Bell.

Erler said, “I am pleased to expand my role with this talented senior leadership team and I look forward to playing a pivotal role in achieving Cotton’s long-term goals. I also want to thank our best-in-class legal team and the critical role they serve for Cotton. They are true partners with our business units, consistently remaining focused on contributing to Cotton’s growth and success.“

With more than 25 years of experience, Erler is a proven solutions-oriented advisor to clients in both public and private arenas. For the past 15 years, Erler has had a significant role in all of Cotton’s transactions and legal matters, even before joining Cotton as general counsel in 2016 to establish and build the company’s legal and risk departments. Erler received a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University and B.A. in business administration from Texas A&M University.
