Berks • Fire • Water Restorations, Inc.℠ has awarded three scholarships to Lancaster County Career & Technology Center, Brownstown, Pennsylvania. Two instructors and one student will be attending the Carpet Repair and Reinstallation Course at the Restoration Technical Institute, Reading, Penn. Some of the topics and training that will be covered in the course will be: carpet installation, tools, carpet construction, seaming, and students will receive hands- on training.

Sam Betancourt, a scholarship recipient, Instructor, and former graduate said about the scholarships, “As a school, we are always trying to provide the students with as many opportunities to succeed as possible.  Being able to give the students another avenue for employment is a plus not only for them, but also for the community as a whole.” 

Michael DelPriore, Principal at the Brownstown Campus of the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center is grateful for the partnership with Berks Fire Water Restorations, Inc. and feels that the scholarships will help our students and the institution to update curriculum to better reflect the skills and knowledge needed in the construction industry.  

After the course, the school will evaluate adding Carpet Installation to the curriculum. The Lancaster County Career & Technology Center consists of 4 campuses:  Brownstown, Mount Joy, Willow Street, and Health Sciences.  They offer a variety of training that includes hands-on:  automotive, nursing, manufacturing, culinary, visual communications, and construction trades.
