Q: While our crew was cleaning contents from a fire job, the cleaning process ruined the items. When this happens, who pays to replace that item... the insurance company or us?

A: When an item is already badly damaged from a fire and it is unusable in its current state, then it is considered a destroyed item. If you try to clean it and the cleaning process damages the item, it may not be your fault. However, you do have liability when it comes to breakage and other types of damages caused by your team.
