The American Bio-Recovery Association (ABRA) has named Andrew P. Yurchuck as its new president of the Board of Directors, according to a press release. Yurchuck has been an ABRA member for 12 years and served on the association’s executive board in 2006 and 2012.

“I’m excited about taking the helm of ABRA,” he says. “My agenda for my term is to improve our online presence, further education in the industry and to establish new education standards.”

Yurchuck started his own company, Classic Cleaning, in 1994 and got involved in bio-hazard work in 1996 when he added Bio-Clean of New Jersey. He’s logged thousands of hours in bio work, including decontamination jobs like the anthrax outbreak in Washington D.C., 9/11, Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy.
