Columbia,
MD – The RIA Fall Conference will be held on October 5-8 in Albuquerque,
N.M., during the International Balloon Fiesta. This year’s program will focus
on building science and its relationship to restoration and reconstruction.
Noted
building science professional Joseph Lstiburek, Ph.D., P.Eng., will speak at
a preconference session and explain how building science applies to water
damage restoration and drying. The full conference opens with presentations on
evaluating building materials for restorability and the value of builder/damage
repair contractor collaborations.
Day
two examines damage evaluation and restoration of non-conditioned spaces,
includes a mini-keynote on home performance contracting, a look at university
studies related to industry issues, an update from Purdue University on it
restoration program within the construction management department, and an
opportunity to hear and learn from leading authorities in the realm of building
and construction science.

The
conference is $675 for RIA members and $875 for non-members, and includes the
two-day conference, meals and a trip to the Balloon Fiesta. Attendees who
register by September 14 can save $150 on the conference.
