Columbia, MD – The Restoration Industry Association is issuing a call for entries for the 2010 Phoenix Awards for Innovation in Restoration and Reconstruction.

For the first time, RIA is expanding the eligibility criteria by opening the awards to non-member firms who are active service providers in the restoration and remediation industry. To be considered for eligibility, a project must be at least 90 percent complete by December 2009. Projects must also involve personal or building property and residential or commercial buildings in the areas of restoration and reconstruction. There is no minimum project size. Fees for members are $250 for the first entry and $150 for each additional entry, and for non-members, $500 for first entry and $400 for each additional entry. A firm may submit up to two projects in each category.

The deadline is December 15, 2009, and all projects and entry forms should be post-marked by this date. The winners will be announced during the 65th Annual Convention and Exhibition being held from March 23-27, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Ga.

“The Phoenix Awards are the premier awards for those involved in the restoration industry,” explained RIA’s Director of Communications, Patricia Harman, who coordinates the competition. “The projects are judged by a panel of their peers from the restoration, construction and insurance industries, and participating in this competition creates a sense of pride and confidence for all involved. Winning the competition validates a company’s commitment to excellence for their staff, colleagues and clients.”
