Demand for roofers unchanged despite record snowfall
While
heavy snow and blizzard conditions last month caused some structure damage
across the region, local contractors and roofing distributors say demand for
repair services and materials has not gone up.
“The snow actually has weakened our demand, because it’s tough for contractors to get out and install material when there is snow all over the roof,” said Tony Matter, a spokesman for Carlisle SynTec, a leading commercial roofing manufacturer.
However, once the winter weather is behind us, manufacturers like Carlisle SynTec expect they will see an uptick in demand “It’s likely to have a positive impact on re-roofing opportunities in the spring,” Matter said. From The Sentinel Online.
