While heavy snow and blizzard conditions last month caused some structure damage across the region, local contractors and roofing distributors say demand for repair services and materials has not gone up.

“The snow actually has weakened our demand, because it’s tough for contractors to get out and install material when there is snow all over the roof,” said Tony Matter, a spokesman for Carlisle SynTec, a leading commercial roofing manufacturer.
