Columbia, MD – The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) has introduced its Qualified Technician Emblem Program for its technician-based certificate courses which focus primarily on fire/smoke/water and mold. These are the: Mold Remediation Technician (MRT), the Mold Remediation Supervisor (MRS) and the Certified Restoration Technician (CRT).

“The Qualified Technician emblem is an excellent way for technicians to encourage the confidence of property owners, tenants and insurance companies that a qualified technician is restoring their property,” explained RIA Director of Education & Certification Cynthia Hereth.

The program includes a bold red, white and black RIA “Qualified” starter emblem with a designation tab for each of the technical certifications earned by the wearer.

“RIA advanced training and education keeps technicians and supervisors on top of the best business practices for the benefit of their clients, while expanding the individual’s preparedness for the problems that might be encountered,” said RIA President Jeff Jones, CRS.

RIA’s Technician Certificate Program will be expanding in the future to include water loss, contents and other specialty areas of value to the restoration industry.

Emblems are available for both RIA members and non-members who attend RIA-sponsored MRT, MRS and CRT courses and successfully passed the course test with a score of 80 percent or higher.
