Coronavirus: We Are In This Together!

By Michelle Blevins
Coronavirus Coverage
April 7, 2020

Where do I even start this month?! I am writing this on Monday, March 23, several weeks before the issue will hit your mailbox or inbox. By the time you read this, it is likely the world will have seemed to change all over again amid dealing with the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak.

I’ve watched something wonderful happening in recent weeks – the industry joining together in a way perhaps unlike ever before. Associations like the Restoration Industry Association, organizations like the Institute for Inspection Cleaning & Restoration (IICRC), and industry experts and professionals have been working together to come up with best practices, contracts, essential services declarations, and more. This morning, I spoke with a franchise owner who said he has never seen his franchise network come together as it is in this crazy time. We are in this together. Keep it up!

Normally, the April issue of R&R is all about Prepping for Disaster (see pages 24-31), typically meaning weather-related events. While some of that content is still within these pages (because business will go back to normal someday!), we have also added in a few articles related to Coronavirus response, starting on page 8.

The two articles in this issue are just a very small sampling of the dozens of articles, videos, press releases, and more we have on a Coronavirus-specific landing page on www.randrmagonline.com. We are adding fresh content to this page almost every single day. Here are just a few of the topics covered:

  • Management Tips
  • Safety Tips
  • Workflow
  • Legal Concerns
  • Insurance Requirements & Liability
  • Do’s and Don’ts of Disinfection/Cleaning
  • Product/Machine Tips & Information

Plus, be sure to follow the R&R Facebook page for updates all day long from us and a variety of other industry resources.

Stay safe. Be educated. Be well.
