The devastating effects of last October’s Superstorm Sandy were felt throughout the Northeast, leaving thousands of homes damaged and millions of residents without power.

In October 2012, Paul Davis National responded to an emergency services call for structural cleanup, water damage restoration, stabilization and drying services at Coilhose Pneumatics in East Brunswick, N.J.

Years ago, Bill Weber was called to a home to take care of a mold infestation. He used bleach to treat the situation.

Six months ago today, Superstorm Sandy hit, wreaking havoc on the east coast. The storm was responsible for 159 deaths (both directly and indirectly), some $50 billion worth of damage as well as the displacement of many homes and business.

The one-day Mold Remediation Symposium that R&R held on April 9, 2013 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J. was very successful.

Daniel Bernazzani, PhD, has spearheaded Flood Safe Habitats, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating volunteers and flood victims of the procedural standard of care that will guard their health and safety and help assure the future health of the occupants of the flooded habitats.

A number of RIA members have partnered with All Hands Volunteers to create The Sandy Solution, a cleaning solution designed to remediate houses with mold growth as a result of flood damage from Hurricane Sandy, according to a press release.
