Phoenix Digital Growth publishes a free after-hours handoff checklist for restoration owners

Who owns the next emergency inquiry? - An after-hours handoff test for restoration owners
Image: Phoenix Digital Growth
October 27, 2026

Phoenix Digital Growth has published a free, ungated guide for independent water and fire restoration owners who want to test what happens to a direct emergency inquiry after hours. It is available here and requires no email address, registration or download. The guide contains three items an owner can use without buying anything:

  • A handoff assignment template naming who owns the phone for a given shift, who the backup is, and who must confirm they have accepted responsibility for an inquiry.
  • An acceptance test for the path that fails when nobody confirms, run as an identified test call rather than a fabricated emergency.
  • Six questions to ask an answering service before signing: the answer-time commitment and what the service does when it misses it; who is escalated to and who confirms acceptance; whether the script and required questions can be controlled; whether first-response time per inquiry is visible without asking; what is written back to the CRM, when, and what happens when that write fails; and whether the provider will fail on purpose during a trial.

The guide also states the condition under which buying an answering service is the whole fix and Phoenix Digital Growth is not needed.

Phoenix Digital Growth offers paid implementation of after-hours and missed-call response workflows for independent water and fire restoration companies. It is not an answering service and does not provide staffed emergency dispatch.
