Gale Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Johan Rodriguez, PE, CFM has joined the firm’s Civil Engineering Group. Johan is an expert stormwater engineer with a distinctive background in both civil and chemical engineering and over two decades of project management experience delivering complex water and stormwater solutions across Florida and multiple states. In his role at Gale, he will provide technical project leadership and management for stormwater infrastructure and permitting, drainage design, and watershed analysis projects. His expertise supports the continued growth of Gale’s Civil Engineering practice across Florida and our multiple East Coast offices.

Johan’s career spans over 28 years, beginning with a technical foundation as a chemical engineer designing and constructing water treatment facilities. He later earned a civil engineering degree to specialize in stormwater management. He has extensive experience in drainage studies, stormwater system mapping, GIS database development, and stormwater pond and storm sewer system design, as well as hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for major watersheds and large-scale development projects. He brings deep experience working with Florida regulatory agencies, including the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the St. Johns River, South Florida, Southwest Florida, and Northwest Florida Water Management Districts. He has a strong track record of delivering successful permitting and compliance outcomes for complex projects. His work includes stormwater design and permitting for educational and recreational facilities, as well as flood mitigation and floodplain analysis for residential communities and complex watershed systems, including FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) revisions.

“Johan brings expert-level knowledge in stormwater management engineering to Gale,” said Steven Marshall, Managing Principal of Gale. “His experience enhances our civil engineering capabilities to deliver comprehensive stormwater analysis and management solutions tailored to our public and private sector clients’ specific needs.”

A Registered Professional Engineer in Florida and eight other states, Johan is a Certified Floodplain Manager and a Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector. He is an active member of the Association of State Floodplain Managers and the Florida Floodplain Managers Association. Johan earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida and his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
