1-800-PACK-RAT Renews Partnership with Homes For Our Troops

Industry News
June 13, 2019

1-800-PACK-RAT, LLC, a leader in the portable storage and moving industry has announced that it has extended its partnership with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT). HFOT is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post – 9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. These homes have over 40 major special adaptations, and the Veteran chooses the location of their home, often times opting to be closer to family and medical services. In addition to the building of a home, HFOT provides financial planning and home-budgeting assistance to the Veteran to set them up for long-term success as a home owner.

1-800-PACK-RAT is one of 29 corporate partners that assist HFOT in their home builds and is the non-profit’s Official Supplier of Portable Storage Solutions. The company provides all-steel, weatherproof, portable storage containers that can be used by the builders to keep materials and other donated items safe and secure while the home is built.

Since starting the partnership in April 2017, 1-800-PACK-RAT has donated 44 containers for 27 build sites. In addition to providing a secure and weatherproof location for building materials and donated items, the on-site storage provided by 1-800-PACK-RAT’s portable storage containers have saved home builders valuable time. By accessing these materials on-site, the builders were able to adhere to HFOT deadlines and count on 1-800-PACK-RAT to deliver or pick up containers when necessary.

“Homes For Our Troops is thrilled to have renewed our philanthropic partnership with 1-800-PACK-RAT for another year,” said Bill Ivey, Homes For Our Troops Executive Director. “Having 1-800-PACK-RAT’s containers on our build sites assists our builders to adhere to our schedules because we can ship them products at the beginning of the build process, giving them access as needed. This enables our severely injured post-9/11 Veterans to move into their homes on time, so they can begin rebuilding their lives.”

“1-800-PACK-RAT is extremely proud to continue its support of Homes For Our Troops,” said James Burati III, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at 1-800-PACK-RAT. “HFOT continues to be a highly regarded charity that gives back to our nation’s Veterans by giving them the freedom to live their lives the way they want. We look forward to assisting them however we can in their mission to provide a better future for these Veterans.”

To date, HFOT has built over 270 specially adapted homes across the United States. To learn more about their mission, please visit their website at www.hfotusa.org.
