R&R IICRC Monthly Update—October 2015

S500 and S520 Revisions Complete

BSR-IICRC S500 draft Standard and Reference Guide for professional water damage restoration was available for the first public review March 29 to May 13, 2013, for the second public review Dec. 6, 2013 to Jan. 20, 2014, for the third public review Aug. 1 to Aug. 31, 2014, for the fourth public review March 6 to April 5, 2015, and for the fifth public review June 26 to July 26, 2015. All comments submitted as part of the public review periods have been reviewed and addressed by the Consensus Body, and responses distributed. The S500 Consensus Body is currently reviewing the draft for final editing prior to submission to ANSI, and publication.

BSR-IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation was available for the first round of public review and the Reference Guide was available for informal peer review July 5 to August 19, 2013, and the second round of review occurred March 13 to April 27, 2015. All public and peer review comments submitted have been reviewed and addressed, and responses distributed. The S520 Consensus Body is currently reviewing the draft for final editing prior to submission to ANSI, and publication.

The revised S500 and S520 Standards are expected to be published in late October 2015.

Call for Volunteers

The IICRC is accepting applications from anyone interested in helping to develop the BSR-IICRC S210 Standard and Reference Guide for Dimension Stone Maintenance and Restoration. This new Standard and Reference Guide will encompass the cleaning, maintenance, restoration, rehabilitation, preservation methodologies and repair for interior dimension stone.
