Sign Up Now! Total Contenz Offering Hands-On Pack Out Simulator Workshop in May

Earn special contents restoration certificates through three-day class

Total Contentz is offering a three-day class May 27-29 for anyone interested in learning more about contents restoration. There will be two days of classroom and hands-on training on packing procedures, plus a third day on contents estimating.

Certified restorer Barb Jackson will be running the course in Noblesville, Ind. Here's a look at the schedule:

Day 1: Half Day Classroom Theory/Half Day Hands-On

  • Pack out pitfalls

  • Four factors of successful contents division

  • Packing boxes for efficiency and profitability

  • Learn the foundation for inventory systems

Day 2: Role-Playing and Hands-On Training - In Restore House

  • Inventory

  • Packing

  • Determining best sorting of contents

  • Define the roles of team members

  • Mobilizing Supplies

  • Stocking the pack out truck

  • Setting up staging area at loss site (job)

  • Setting up pack out stations

  • Learning Digital Photo Inventory (DPI) System

  • Packing of boxed items and wrapping furniture

  • Transporting

  • Warehouse functions: inventory intake, storage & tracking

  • Re-packing boxes and re-wrapping furniture &items

  • Loading the vault and racks

Day 3: Estimating

  • Learn how to write clear, straight- forward, transparent contents estimates that build trust, credibility and win more jobs.

  • Xactimate estimating software used in class - feel free to bring your laptop with Xactimate loaded on it. 

People with a passing grade of 80 percent or more receive a Level 1 Contents technician Certificate. The course also earns two IICRC credits. Click here for more information and costs for this training opportunity.
