Kelmann Corp. Named 2010 Rick Bowers Pinnacle Award Winner

February 14, 2011

(Wood Dale, IL, February 14, 2011) – Disaster Kleenup International, LLC, today announced that Kelmann Corporation of Wauwatosa, WI, was named the 2010 Rick Bowers Pinnacle Award winner.

The Rick Bowers Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Disaster Restoration is given in recognition of the long service to DKI of Rick Bowers, who passed away in 2005. The award is given to a DKI member company that, in the prior twelve months, completed the best restoration project as judged by its peers, demonstrating the level of skill, commitment and excellence that Bowers brought to every project.

This year’s winning project was the repair of damage to a Serbian Orthodox Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. An electrical fire started in the floor and spread up the walls, causing damage to the basement, roof, first floor sanctuary and stained glass windows. The water used for fire suppression further damaged the 100 year old church.

The decision was made quickly to restore the building, and the restoration required removing all of the old plaster down to the original studs, rebuilding the fire damaged portion of the roof, reinforcing the non-fire damaged section of the roof, replacing the electrical system, repairing and replacing damaged sections of floors and walls, making improvements to the heating system, rebuilding (rather than replacing) 100 year old , hand built roof trusses, and repairing and replacing stained glass windows.

“We were pleased to present this award to Kelmann Corporation this year,” said Dale Sailer, president of DKI. “It expertly handled the job to the satisfaction of the customer and demonstrated the high level of quality and dedication that DKI Member Companies are known for in the restoration marketplace.”

Richard Niggemann, president of Kelmann Corporation, said,” We are honored to be recognized by DKI for our achievement. Providing quality service to customers is our number one priority, and as a DKI Member we work to provide quality service to our customers and promote DKI as the source for quality restoration.”

The ceremony took place on Tuesday January 25, 2011, after Insights 2011: The Property Restoration Conference and Tradeshow concluded in San Diego, CA. Dale Sailer, president of DKI, presented the awards.
