The IICRC would like to welcome Brandon Burton as its new Standards Chairman. Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Burton took over for longstanding Standards Chairman Howard Wolf.
The IICRC is seeking volunteers to serve on a consensus body for the development of a brand-new standard: The BSR/IICRC S340 Standard for Professional Cleaning and Maintenance of Leather Furnishings. The new S340 Standard will provide a uniform guide for those who currently work in, or are looking to work in, leather cleaning and maintenance.
The State of Ohio is consistently among the states with the most bed bug problems. In 2018, Cleveland and Cincinnati were the top two worst cities for bed bugs, based on service requests to pest control company Terminix. A nationwide 2015 study by PestWorld.org found that almost 100 percent of pest control companies had treated bed bugs within the past year; which was up from 10 and 15 years prior.
Members of FRST are trained and certified by the Global BioRisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a TOMI partner comprised of international leaders in the field of microbial – pathogenic threat analysis, mitigation, response and recovery.
BSR/IICRC S340 is intended for use by professional cleaners, upholstery manufacturers, retailers, distributors, industry suppliers, specifiers, homeowners, property and facility managers, housekeepers, insurance companies and others.
