In October 2021, OSHA will take a significant step toward a federal heat standard to ensure protections in workplaces across the country by issuing an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on heat injury and illness prevention in outdoor and indoor work settings.
The advisory committee promotes greater awareness of the benefits of apprenticeship, fosters increased alignment between apprenticeship opportunities and workforce and education systems, expands apprenticeship into new industries and occupations, and ensures equity for under-represented populations.
The agency has delivered more than $110 million in disaster rescue funds to small businesses, homeowners, renters and nonprofit organizations recovering from damages caused by Hurricane Ida.
"While the implications of this acquisition on restoration contractors is not yet fully known, RIA members and constituents have concerns about how their data is being used and how it will impact the future of their business," the statement reads.
Higher materials prices and labor costs have put more projects on hold and, in many cases, rendered projects infeasible, ABC Chief Economist Anirban Basu said.
