The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) recently announced the return of its popular contents restoration conference after a three year hiatus. The conference occurs this fall, Nov. 7-9 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. RIA has a strong history of providing content focused education; it produced content restoration-centric conferences earlier this decade.

The restoration industry has lost one of its trailblazers. Hubert T. Carpenter, known to his friends as Butch, passed away on April 11 2016 in his home in Lincoln (Sacramento), Calif., with his wife Michelle and daughters Nicole and Jaclyn by his side.

Another successful show is in the books! This year, the 2016 International Restoration Convention & Industry Expo also celebrated RIA’s 70 years of leadership in the restoration industry. From an evening welcome reception in a beautiful outdoor garden space to the 70^th anniversary gala, it was truly an event to remember.

This month, the Restoration Industry Association celebrates 70 years of leadership in an ever-growing, ever-evolving, and ever-changing industry. Like the restoration world, the association has changed names, leaders, and focuses a number of times over the years. But at its core, the RIA is the same today as it was when it was founded in 1946: an organization focused on serving other people.
