Alpine Cleaning & Restoration Specialists Partners with ROC Solid Foundation to Build Playset for local Girl Fighting Cancer

Alpine Cleaning & Restoration Specialists, based in Northern Utah, recently partnered with nonprofit Roc Solid Foundation to build a backyard playset for Adlee Frampton, a girl in their community who is fighting cancer.

Adlee, who will turn three in November, is fighting a Stage 2 Wilms Tumor, which is a rare kidney cancer. She was diagnosed in May 2024 and is being treated at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Zane Bagley, President of Alpine, attended a conference with CORE Restoration Group earlier this year in which a playset was built and revealed to a family fighting pediatric cancer in partnership with Roc Solid Foundation.

“We are comfortable with building in general, and we knew immediately we wanted to partner with Roc Solid to help a family in our community,” says Bagley. “Now that we’ve done it once, we’re ready to do more. Everyone loved the experience.”

Roc Solid Foundation worked with the local children’s hospital to identify a family. The nonprofit then set a build date, connected them to the family and shipped the playset to Alpine’s headquarters as they organized volunteers and tools needed. Roc Solid also provided manuals and a series of tips and tricks videos to ensure a good experience for both parties.

“It was all very simple and straightforward,” says Bagley. “We organized the playset and hardware into sections, and an app guided us through the entire build process. All-in-all, it only took us about four hours to build with eight volunteers.”

Although she didn’t know exactly what was happening in her backyard, Adlee was extremely excited, knowing a big surprise was in store.

“As soon as we finished building and cleaned up, we brought the family out for the reveal, and Adlee’s expression was priceless when she saw her playset for the first time,” says Bagley. “They put her on the swing, and she had a big ol’ smile on her face. The parents read the inspiring messages we wrote on the playset (a Roc Solid tradition), and I could tell it meant a lot to them.”

Alpine took the excitement a step further by surprising Adlee with Disney-themed gifts, a favorite listed on her playset application.

Roc Solid Foundation is hoping to partner with more companies like Alpine so they can reach more kids fighting cancer throughout the country with the gift of play. The nonprofit is founded on the belief that play defeats cancer, focusing on the power of play to bring hope and normalcy back into the lives of families facing extremely difficult situations as they fight pediatric cancer.

“Not only was it amazing to see the impact of what we were able to do for Adlee and her family in just a few short hours, but it was also a great team-building experience for our company, bringing people together to get to know each other outside the office,” adds Bagley. “It was unforgettable for everyone who participated.”

As for Adlee and her family, they gave Bagley and his team at Alpine a special note of thanks after the build, including a handprint, that read: “We are so humbled by your kindness and generosity! It is truly life changing! We will never forget you! Thank you so much for everything!
