IICRC Opens Trauma Clean-Up Standard for Review

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and RestorationCertification (IICRC) has opened public review for the following Standard:Revised draft IICRC S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup. Interested parties can download the draft Standard and submit comments online from January 20 toMarch 6 at: https://iicrc.org/s540/.
As part of the ANSI 45-day public review period, all comments must be submitted using the online comment form no later than the deadline.
The S540 Standard defines criteria and methodology used by the technician for inspecting and investigating blood and other potentially infectious material, contamination and for establishing work plans and procedures. The standard describes the procedures to be followed by professionals and the precautions to be taken when performing trauma and crime scene cleanup regardless of surface, item or location.
