RIA Offering Discounted Rate for November IICRC-Approved ASD Course in Nashville

Interested in becoming a Water Loss Specialist (WLS)?  Pursuing certification as an IICRC Master Water Restorer? Take advantage of special discounted registration for the Applied Structural Drying prerequisite course for the WLS certification, November 1-3 in Nashville. 

Through a special negotiated rate, RIA is excited to offer a discounted rate for the IICRC-approved Applied Structural Drying (ASD) course. This three-day course is designed to teach the effective, efficient and timely drying of water-damaged structures and contents. Featuring a comprehensive classroom and hands-on training, attendees will learn about appropriate decision making within a restorative drying environment.

Explore the ASD Course 

When you register to attend, expect an in-depth study of the science of drying with the industry's top instructors. This three-day course includes ample hands-on experience and a copy of RSA's comprehensive cleaning, restoration, and remediation textbook: The Complete Guide to Cleaning and Restoration. Besides hands-on practice and application in our flood house, the program emphasizes:

  • Water Extraction: Effectiveness and Equipment
  • In-Place Drying
  • Job Documentation
  • Moisture Meter / Instrumentation Usage
  • Psychrometry / Psychrometric Decision Making
  • Managing the Drying System throughout the project
  • Understanding Drying Equipment, Placement & Quantities
  • Structural and Finishing Materials Evaluation & Decision Making
  • Specialty Drying including Wood Flooring

Attendees of the program have access to special resources and free access to a diverse collection of job documentation documents. 

Certification: IICRC Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD).
Prerequisite: IICRC WRT.

About Your Instructor

Brendan Kimmel managed a full service cleaning and disaster restoration firm for over six years in the greater Seattle area. He joined RSA in 2008, at the RSA Claude Blackburn Education Center in Burlington, WA.

He serves as the primary technical and project support specialist for the RSA, assisting alumni and other professional restorers with a wide variety of drying challenges. Brendan is an IICRC certified Master Water Restorer, CDS, AMRT, Master Fire and Smoke Restorer, and Master Textile Cleaner. He presently serves as a resident instructor for the RSA Restorative Drying 201 (ASD) program.
