Self-Management Transition

In mid-August, the IICRC transitioned to self-management with all operations now conducted by IICRC staff located within the Institute’s Global Resource Center in Las Vegas.

The IICRC will be increasing capacity over the next several weeks as our number one priority is improving customer support. The IICRC has already begun to implement numerous procedures to strengthen the Institute, including the hiring of a new customer satisfaction team. The IICRC also has a new toll-free phone number, 844-464-4272, staffed with live support Monday through Friday, and a new helpdesk email, helpdesk@iicrcnet.org.

Additionally, the IICRC no longer has a presence in Virginia or a fax number as part of the transition, so please send all communications, including financial transactions, to the Global Resource Center at 4043 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV, 89119, USA.

Fall Board Meetings

This month, the IICRC will hold its annual fall Shareholders, Certification Council and Board of Directors (BOD) meetings Oct. 14-16, in Las Vegas. Interested in learning more about what happens during the meetings? Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to see live updates – including the results of the 2016-2017 Board of Directors election.

New S500 Videos

The IICRC has added new videos to its subscription website. Twelve videos are now available to premium subscribers featuring presentations from a special two-day, invite-only S500 seminar. Hosted at the Global Resource Center in Las Vegas, the video presentations feature tutorials from S500 consensus body members on the newly-revised fourth edition, including explanations of the entire document as well as its major changes and applications.

The IICRC subscription website allows online access to all current IICRC standards, reference guides, technical papers and multimedia publications from anywhere an Internet connection is available – completely eliminating the need to carry a 300-plus page binder to worksites. The site also allows you to:

  • Log in anywhere and access online content on your tablet, phone or computer
  • Search and sort for what you need and get information on the spot
  • Make notes online and save them for reference later
  • Download individual sections and chapters as needed

IICRC Calls for S400 Consensus Body Volunteers

The IICRC is seeking volunteers to serve on a consensus body for the development of the new BSR-IICRC S400 Standard for Cleaning, Maintenance and Restoration of the Commercial Built Environment.

The BSR-IICRC S400 will focus on the commercial built environment and define tasks, frequencies, production expectations, goals, results, principles, methods and processes to clean, maintain and restore the built environment (i.e. materials, building assemblies, structures, furniture, fixtures, and equipment located inside a building envelope).

Those interested in submitting an application to serve on the S400 consensus body should visit http://www.iicrc.org/standards/s400/ to download the application form.

Parlez-Vous Francais?

The IICRC has recently released a French translation of the ANSI/IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration (4th edition, 2015).  This is the first time the IICRC has translated a complete standard.

To purchase a copy of the new IICRC S500: French 2016 and other standards, visit http://webstore.iicrc.org. For more information on other certification programs and standards offered by IICRC, visit www.iicrc.org.
