The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has transitioned to self-management. All operations will now be conducted by IICRC staff located within the Global Resource Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

The IICRC has already begun to implement numerous procedures to strengthen the Institute, including the hiring of a new customer satisfaction team. The IICRC also has a new toll-free phone number (844-464-4272) and help desk email (helpdesk@iicrcnet.org).

“Please be patient with us as we establish the foundation for an improved IICRC,” said IICRC Chairman Pete Duncanson. “The Institute has helped hundreds of thousands of inspection, cleaning, restoration and installation businesses to thrive – and will continue to do so for years to come.”

IICRC Board Elections

The IICRC Board of Directors election process is officially underway.

Comprised of 15 industry leaders, the IICRC Board is elected by its shareholders each fall. Its function is to represent the various interests of the registrants while leading the direction of the organization. The IICRC Board is tasked with the responsibility of helping shape future policies of the organization and upholding the standards that help shape the industry.

The newly elected Board and Executive Committee members will be announced during the IICRC’s fall Board meetings in Las Vegas. Throughout the meetings, the IICRC will post live updates and photos to its Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Volunteers Needed for New Standard

The IICRC is seeking volunteers to serve on a consensus body for the development of the new BSR-IICRC S400 Standard for Cleaning, Maintenance and Restoration of the Commercial Built Environment.

The BSR-IICRC S400 will focus on the commercial built environment and define tasks, frequencies, production expectations, goals, results, principles, methods and processes to clean, maintain and restore the built environment (i.e. materials, building assemblies, structures, furniture, fixtures, and equipment located inside a building envelope).

Consensus body members can expect to begin work on the standard by the end of 2016 with nearly all meetings being held online and via conference calls. The new Standard is expected to be completed in approximately two years.

Those interested in submitting an application to serve on the S400 consensus body should visit http://www.iicrc.org/standards/s400/.
