Palmer Wahl Instrumentation Group, a manufacturer of industrial temperature and pressure products, announces the promotion of Mr. Michael J. Blount to vice president.  Mr. Blount is responsible for the development of new products and expansion of engineering capabilities as a part of Palmer Wahl’s growth strategy.
 
Previously based in England, The Netherlands, Germany, and Italy, Blount brings with him a wealth of know-how thanks to 50 years of experience in design, manufacture, and supply of industrial temperature measurement products worldwide.

As the founder and managing director of Thermo Devices Ltd., Cheshire, UK, Blount was responsible for the design, manufacture, and supply of more than $200 Million of specialty engineered temperature products to the largest and newest chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and off shore projects in the world, including projects in India, China, and Russia.  His mechanical engineering specialties include certified welding designs and approvals in accordance with ASME IX and beyond and full penetration welds in Duplex, Super Duplex, 316 Stainless Steel, Incoloy 800H and Stellite materials up to 2 inches thick. 
 
Blount holds certificates awarded by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and Royal Aeronautical Society for qualifications including specialized subjects in manufacturing and design, tribology, theory of structures, fluid power, welding, and metallurgy.  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Management at John Dalton University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), today known as Dalton Nuclear Institute, The University of Manchester, England.
