CRDN builds community commitment at grassroots level

July 13, 2011

BERKLEY, MI, July 13, 2011 – The Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network (CRDN) is accustomed to helping those in need, following a fire or flood in their home. This experience has enabled CRDN to expand its service to local communities through the involvement of two noteworthy projects throughout the year.

First, CRDN has been named a season-long preferred vendor for the award-winning ABC-TV show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” for the sixth straight year. The vast geographic coverage and extensive experience helping tens of thousands of homeowners each year has made CRDN the perfect participant for the show, now in its ninth season.

In another show of community support, CRDN also has begun its second year as a major sponsor of the Collegiate Players Tour (CPT), a summer-long golf competition for college-age men and women across the United States.

“We are extremely proud of the commitment of CRDN members across the United States to continue to contribute in many ways to each local community where we live and work,” said Wayne Wudyka, CRDN’s CEO. “Our members are very charitable year after year, through coat drives, service projects and financial support of meaningful activities. The opportunity to help ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ provide a fresh start for so many deserving families, now more than 105 over the past six years, has been a natural fit for us. Our organization is adept at assisting those who have experienced an accident or disaster by restoring garments and other fabric items-those items that are very personal-and each of the show’s projects enables us to play an important role.”

To see a complete list of CRDN participants and photos from many of the episodes, go to www.CRDN.com and follow the link under the “About Us” section, or visit CRDN’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CRDNTextileRestoration.

CRDN’s sponsorship of the CPT includes national financial support as well as local involvement in 10 states: Texas, California, Ohio, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, South Carolina and Oklahoma. Following tour stops in 11 cities, the CPT culminates with the national championship in the Dallas/Fort Worth area August 8-11.

“We are pleased to support these young men and women who excel as students and as athletes,” Wudyka said. “We also are very proud of our local Partners who have committed to being involved with the events in their communities.”

“The Collegiate Players Tour sincerely appreciates the support and involvement of CRDN,” said Barry Rodenhaver, Executive Director of the CPT. “With organizations like CRDN stepping up and sponsoring our tour, we are looking forward to providing a competitive and rewarding tour for these young people, as well as support for area non-profits.”

While the objective of the CPT is to provide experience and generate confidence among college players, at least eight CPT participants have gone on to play on the pro tour. More than 350 colleges and universities are represented at the CPT each year. Starting its 18th year, the Collegiate Players Tour is sanctioned by the Golf Coaches Association of America and the National Golf Coaches Association.
