Restoration Journeys Announces Italian Workshop Dates

June 2, 2011

Denver, Colorado. – May 26, 2011 – Textile Consultants and Costa Group Educational announce that registration for the Oct. 23 Advanced Water Damage Restoration Workshop in Italy is open.

The Restoration Italy Tour begins with over nine days in Florence and Siena, with the option to extend travel to the Amalfi coastline and Sorrento for an additional 5 nights. The program will concentrate on art restoration, art history, the Italian culture and food & wine.

“Our journey begins in Florence staying at the newly renovated 4 star Hotel Brunelleschi whose architecture dates back to medieval times. Tours included are of the famous Uffizi Museum and Vasari Corridor that house works of art by Michelangelo, Leonardo Di Vinci, etc…during hours that it is closed to the public; climbing to the usually off limits terrace level of the amazing “Duomo” Cathedral; viewing Michelangelo’s David at the Accedamia Museum; and the opportunity go inside the walls of the Fortezza da Basso to see the most important state-of-the-art restoration laboratories in Tuscany! Here you will get an up-close look at art undergoing restoration. You will also be able to view art and architecture being restored as you walk the historic streets of Florence.

“You will have time to explore Florence on your own. Barter in the leather market; shop in boutiques and gold shops; and enjoy the Italian cuisine complete with Vino, Coffee, and Gelato! A few excursions to other Italian cities are available such as Rome and Venice…or discover other areas of Italy during your free days! Program coordinators will be available with more ideas!

“Our group will journey on to stay in Siena, within the heart of Tuscany and stay at the 5 Star Continental Hotel. Here we will relax and enjoy the Tuscan country side with options to visit local chianti vineyards and castles, bicycle through the country side, or experience smaller Tuscan villages.

“If you are still ready for more…Restoration Journeys will continue on to Sorrento in Southern Italy where we will stay at the 5 Star Hilton Sorrento Palace. Sorrento sits on the Bay of Naples and overlooks Mount Vesuvius. Our journey will take us to stay at the beautiful 5 star Hilton Sorrento Palace on the cliffs of Sorrento! Spend a few days relaxing, drinking limoncello and eating the best buffalo mozzarella, or join in on the once in a lifetime excursions offered to the island of Capri, the famous Amalfi Coastline, and ancient Pompeii!

“The journey will allow you to spend time with other industry experts, business owners and managers, having time to network, relax, and build business relationships and friendships, all while gaining valuable insight and information to further build your restoration business practice. Along with tours, and time in the Fortezza da Basso to see the most important state-of-the-art restoration laboratories in Tuscany, enjoy networking and time to break away from business and rejuvenate, and don’t forget there will be plenty of fun and new places to explore. You owe it to yourself, your family and your business development to take the time to learn the newest ideas and concepts from the leading industry team.

“We hope you are able to join us in our “Restoration Journey” to beautiful Italy! Space is limited and this journey will sell out, so be sure to SIGN UP NOW!”
