It was a long time in coming, but on Saturday at 4 p.m., Lake Arrowhead filled up. It wasn't alone; the weekend storm that dumped inches of rain throughout the mountains also filled Lake Gregory.

But though lake levels and the mountain's aquifer have been blessed by recent storms, homeowners with basements prone to flooding have seen the other side of the weather coin.

"There's been quite a bit of additional water damage, but it's normal for this time of year," said Dave Johnson, owner of American Construction & Restoration of Cedar Glen.

Johnson saidhis business has risen about 15 percent because of recent rains. He cited "catastrophic damage" he has witnessed, as well as flooded basements. This more serious damage included a house where ice and snow slid off the roof and blocked the garage door, also creating a dam around the front door that diverted melting water into the house, he said.
