IAQA Installs New Directors and Officers

March 4, 2009

ROCKVILLE, MD – March 4, 2009 – The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) installed newly elected directors and officers at its 12th Annual Meeting & Exposition held last week in Fort Worth, Texas.

Each year, IAQA members elect directors to serve three-year terms of service on the association’s board. Newly elected directors include Mr. Donald Herrmann, CIEC, CIAQP (D. C. Herrmann & Associates, Tampa, FL) and Mr. Donald Weekes, CIH, CSP (InAIR Environmental, Ltd., Ottawa, Ontario). Re-elected to serve second and third terms, respectively, as directors were Mr. Ian Cull, P.E., CIEC, CMC (Indoor Sciences, Inc., Chicago, IL) and Mr. Carl Grimes, CIEC (Healthy Habitats LLC, Denver, CO).

IAQA officers are elected by the board of directors for one-year terms. Elected president for a second term was Mr. Andrew C. Äsk, P.E. (Andrew C. Äsk, P.E., Consulting Engineer, Cape Coral, FL). Mr. Wane A. Baker, P.E., CIH (Michaels Engineering, La Crosse, WI) was elected IAQA first vice president. Elected to IAQA’s two vice-president positions were Mr. Cull and Mr. Grimes. Mr. Derrick Denis, CIEC, CIAQP (Clark Seif Clark, Inc., Tempe, AZ) was elected IAQA treasurer and Mr. Glenn Fellman (Indoor Environment Communications, Rockville, MD) was elected IAQA secretary.

Director and officer election results were announced at the IAQA General Membership Meeting held February 25 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. IAQA also paid tribute to outgoing directors Mr. Joseph Hughes, Jr., CIEC, CMRS (IAQ Training Institute, Central City, PA) and Mr. Robert Baker (BBJ Environmental Solutions, Tampa, FL). Robert Baker, who served a three-year term as IAQA president from 2004 to 2007, was awarded IAQA Lifetime membership. He is among only five individuals to ever receive that distinction. Special appreciation was also expressed to IAQA immediate past president Mr. Thomas Yacobellis, who remains an ex-officio member of the IAQA board.

The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) is a nonprofit, multi-disciplinary organization, dedicated to promoting the exchange of indoor environmental information, through education and research, for the safety and well being of the general public. For more information, visit www.iaqa.org.
