In the days leading up to Christmas 2013, severe ice storms hit Lakeview, MI – a small 1,000-person village located about 50 miles to the northeast of Grand Rapids.

Classes were immediately canceled and more than 300 students and 40 faculty members had to evacuate Oconto High School (Oconto, WI) on April 16, 2014, when a fire broke out in the school.

Last August, a record 4.57 inches of rain fell on southeast Michigan in a matter of hours, putting roads, freeways and tens of thousands of area homes underwater. Now, months later, mold is becoming an issue in many of these affected homes.
