The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has announced that it is revising the ANSI/IICRC S500-2006 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration.

Via a recent edition of IAQ Radio, IICRC Chairman Darrell Paulson announced that ANSI has officially withdrawn approval of the S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation.

I cringed when I heard my client say “we are not following the S520” as he was complaining about being mistreated by a claims adjuster on a job.

IICRC is revising ANSI/IICRC S500: 2006 version and developing S600 and S800 as ANSI Standards. BSR is the ANSI Board of Standards Review that reviews and approves Standards as American National Standards.
