Global Catastrophe Training is proud to announce the next installment of its immersive, hands-on restoration training: Catastrophe Processes & Procedures: Part 1. This all-inclusive, three-day experience is designed to equip restoration contractors with the practical skills and real-world knowledge needed to manage large-loss projects in commercial settings.
Led by Chris Carter, VP of Operations of Action Restoration and co-founder of Global Catastrophe Training, this program offers a unique opportunity for teams to train inside a hospital facility near Beaumont and Houston, TX. Attendees will stay in an on-site man camp, simulating the realities of living and working on a catastrophe job site, with three meals provided daily.
Helixco, Clean Claims, and DocuSketch are proud partners providing hands-on training with their cutting-edge products and platforms. As part of this collaborative experience, students will gain practical knowledge and real-world skills through direct interaction with each company’s tools and technologies.
Participants will earn 14 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) and receive a Level One Catastrophe Processes & Procedures Certificate of Completion. The curriculum includes:
- Burn Rate Calculations
- Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Creation
- Scope Development
- Jobsite Safety Analysis Certificate
- Equipment Calculation
- Jobsite Documentation
- 90% True Hands-On Training
This training is ideal for restoration contractors seeking to grow their expertise in managing catastrophic losses caused by hurricanes, floods, fires and other natural disasters. The immersive format ensures that attendees gain firsthand experience in critical areas such as safety briefings, equipment setup, documentation and estimating methods.
Chris Carter, with over 48 years of combined industry experience alongside co-founder Leanne Welsh, have designed this program to address common field challenges and errors. Their mission is to elevate restoration training through scenario-based learning that mirrors real disaster conditions.
“Our goal is to prepare contractors not just with theory, but with the practical skills they need to succeed in high-pressure environments,” said Carter. “This training is about living the job, not just learning it.”
