January 3, 2012 (New Orleans) – The International Disaster Conference & Expo has released its completed program for IDCE2012, January 17-19, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The impressive roster of speakers and exhibitors, relevant to all aspects of disaster management, including preparation, response, recovery and mitigation, fulfills conference management’s promise to stage the most comprehensive disaster management industry conference and exposition ever.

  On opening morning, January 17, Federal Emergency Management Association Administrator Craig Fugate will deliver the meeting’s keynote address on “The Public-Private Partnership” in disaster management, a central focus of the conference. Mr. Fugate will be followed by Tom Ridge, the First Director of the Department of Homeland Security, who will speak on the evolution of emergency response in America since 9/11.

  The sessions set the stage for a rich and varied IDCE2012 program. Speakers and panelists number more than 50 of the industry’s most recognizable leaders from private industry, including Walt Ehmer - CEO, Waffle House; government agencies, such as Ky Luu - Executive Director, Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy and former Director of the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance; international leaders, including Willy Steenbakkers, Senior Crisis Coordinator of the Department of National Security, The Netherlands, and a delegation from Japan for a general session addressing the 2011 earthquake and tsunami and subsequent nuclear crisis; and top executives of all the major disaster industry associations.
