Spartanburg, SC - August 16, 2010 - Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling of the Upstate owners Dan Driscoll and Gordon McPhee announced today that their office has donated the cleaning of more than 510 lbs. of clothing and soft contents home goods for local resident Debi Carden after a devastating fire at her home in Spartanburg. Paul Davis is currently working at the residence with restoration and reconstruction services.

On July 26, Paul Davis responded to an emergency board up call in the early morning hours following Carden's house fire. The restoration office technicians secured the home and obtained authorization from the homeowner to begin emergency mitigation, restoration and contents cleaning. Carden had insurance coverage, but her tenants did not have renter's insurance.

Carden's tenants are two friends in their 20s who were left homeless after their father died. The brother and sister benefitted from the community service donation which included the cleaning and deodorizing of clothing and other soft contents home goods at no charge.

Some of the damaged, stained and contaminated laundry was processed at Paul Davis' Greer, SC facility and some was cleaned and deodorized at the company's new Carolina contents cleaning facility in Columbia, SC. The Columbia plant features the patented Esporta Wash System, which restores 85 percent of damaged contents that are ordinarily deemed unsalvageable and thrown out following a typical property damage claim. The process keeps truckloads of household goods out of local landfills and allows for the use of "earth friendly" mild detergents to be used which do not cause the degradation to materials caused by more conventional cleaning systems.

Cheryl McPhee, Paul Davis' contents manager, lead the project with seven members of the company's contents cleaning team along with Margaret Lagasse, Paul Davis' operations manager at the cleaning facility at 1114B First Street in Columbia.

The total donation included the company's renowned pack out, inventory and storage service along with laundry and Esporta cleaning services.

Paul Davis Restoration is helping the extended family as part of the Paul Davis Restoring America program -an annual home improvement initiative to help local residents. The company has donated the services as a thank you to Debi Carden for the good work she does as an information technician at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg along with her generosity to house the young brother and sister in need. According to Carden, she is forever thankful to the Paul Davis team for helping her at the fire scene and for assisting her young friends.
