SCRT Elects 2009 Executive Officers and Board

November 17, 2008

November 17, 2008 - The Society of Cleaning and Restoration Technicians (www.scrt.org) held its Semi-annual Board of Directors meeting in Atlanta, GA November 15, 2008.  The 2009 Officers elected include:
  • President Gary Glenn
  • Operations V.P.  Pete Duncanson
  • Membership V.P.  Tom Sherman
  • Secretary  Chris Taylor
  • Treasurer  Patti Savelle

Other board members elected include: Fritz Thompson, Ken McIntosh, Mike Brummett, Bruce DeLoatch, Jeff Bishop, Ruth Travis and Lenny Mingus. New to the SCRT Board is Don McNaulty.  Advisory Board members elected are Carey Mitchell and Paul Bakker.

“I am honored to be re-elected for a third term,” said Gary Glenn.  “And I am excited about the prospect of growing the organization even more by adding additional chapters throughout the U.S. and expanding our technical outreach by announcing three new specialty divisions of our association.  They are Minimum Moisture Cleaning, Bio-Hazard Remediation, and Rug Cleaning and Identification.  Members with special interests in these subjects will be able to go to the member’s only” section of the SCRT website and download technical articles and other important information relating to these specific subjects.  SCRT wants to continue to be the “go-to” association for expert technical information.”

Plans for 2009 also include launching more regional or state chapters in addition to the existing two in Michigan, two in Ohio and one each in Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, North Carolina and Missouri/Kansas and offering more tangible benefits such as discounts for conventions, classes and supplies to SCRT members.
