On
October 3, Evans Garment Restoration Mid-Atlantic hosted the 2nd Annual
Evans Garment Restoration Golf Invitational benefitting the Sunshine Kids
Foundation at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre De Grace, MD. The event attracted leading insurance
professionals, vendors, and contractors from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
for a great day of golf and fun.
Dr.
Akara Forsythe, the Chairperson of the Board for the Sunshine Kids, as well as
Rita Suchma, Director of Development, Jennifer Wisler, Director of Children's
Services, and Kristine Duthie, a Sunshine Kids National SpokesKid, joined in
the day of fun and charity. In addition
to a day of golf and great food, those in attendance
heard from past and present Sunshine Kids, including Dr. Forsythe, about their
experience and the life-changing role that the Sunshine Kids played for them
and their families throughout and after their struggles with cancer.
The
day was a tremendous success for all, but most importantly the Kids and families
helped by the Sunshine Kids Foundation as the event raised $17,884.54 - $5,000
more than the first event in 2010.
The
Sunshine Kids Foundation adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing
them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what
Kids are supposed to do... have fun and celebrate life!
The 3rd
Annual Evans Garment Restoration Golf Invitational, scheduled for October 1st,
2012, also will be held at Bulle Rock.
Superbly designed by Pete Dye Bulle Rock has
long been considered the region's best players course and the top public course
in the Mid-Atlantic. One of only 24 5-Star rated public golf courses in the
nation by Golf Digest, Bulle Rock is also proud to have played host to the
McDonald's LPGA Championship.
