ProRestore renames two products to clarify use, applications

September 15, 2009

September 15, 2009, Coraopolis, Penn. -- ProRestore Products recently renamed two antimicrobial products to clarify their use. Maker of Microban, Unsmoke and ODORx odor control and antimicrobial applications, ProRestore has been providing solutions for the disaster restoration and professional cleaning industries for over 35 years.

Microban Germicidal Cleaner, formerly known as Multi-Purpose Anti-Bacterial Cleaner, or M-PAC, is a hospital grade ready-to-use disinfectant that cleans, disinfects and deodorizes in one labor-saving step. Microban Germicidal Cleaner Concentrate, formerly known as QGC, is a similar product but in an economical concentrated form. At standard dilution rates, a gallon of the concentrate can make up to 64 gallons of ready-to-use solution.

“These products have been top sellers for us for many years because their results and economy are well known across the industry,” said Harry Velgich, Product Manager at ProRestore. “But the old names didn’t clearly communicate exactly what they were for, and we felt we were missing the opportunity to help new customers understand their applications.”

Both germicidal cleaner products are EPA registered (Microban Germicidal Cleaner Concentrate EPA Registration #70385-6, Microban Germicidal Cleaner Registration EPA #70385-8), and are effective against a variety of common household germs including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus Methicillin-Resistant (MRSA) and Streptococcus faecalis, Influenza A / Brazil and Trichophyton mentagrophytes (the athlete's foot fungus), HIV-1, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.

As the fall flu season approaches, ProRestore is seeing increased demand for all Microban products. “Our customers know they can count on the Microban brand to tackle microbial issues, whether it’s mold, bacteria, or viruses.” said Velgich. “With a potential swine flu pandemic upon us, Microban will be on the front lines.”

Other key Microban products include Clean Carpet Sanitizer, Disinfectant Spray Plus, and the antimicrobial-insecticide-deodorant X-580 Spray Plus.

As part of the rebranding effort, ProRestore has redesigned almost all Unsmoke and ODORx labels, and also launched a new website. Located at www.ProRestoreProducts.com, the site features an easy-to-use navigation system, powerful search functions, and easy access to User Guides, Material Data Safety Sheets, product specimen labels, and other relevant information.

The site includes a special product map designed to help customers find their favorite Unsmoke-Microban products – even by the old names. See www.ProRestoreProducts.com or call 800-932-3030 for more information.
