Servpro of ProvidenceSERVPRO of Providence recently presented a check of $2,500 to the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition as part of a social media campaign during October’s “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” according to a press release.

For every “like” it received to its Facebook page in October, the SERVPRO location donated $5 to the Coalition. The campaign finished with 148 new likes, totaling a donation of $740, however, Frank Mattos, owner, in conjunction with general manager, Chris Gagnon, chose to raise the donation to $2,500 to show their genuine support for the cause.

“We are honored to present this donation to support such a wonderful organization,” stated Mattos. “While the campaign was a great success, it means more to our company to be able to give back to an association, such as the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition, who does so much for local women in need.”

The Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition provides support groups at various sites across the state, and 100% of every dollar raised supports women in Rhode Island who are currently fighting breast cancer. With their donations, the Rhode Island Breast Cancer Coalition offers prescription assistance, wigs, prostheses, lymphedema garments and transportation assistance for those who cannot supply it themselves. Their focus is to provide evidence-based education, support and advocacy for those who are affected by this disease.
