Paul Davis Restoration, Inc., has been named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Accredited Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program (RRP) Training Provider.

Ray Berger will serve as the company’s training manager and principal instructor for the program. Berger is also a senior field representative and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Trainer.

According to Berger, on April 22, 2008, the EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule and beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

“The EPA now recommends that anyone performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes and child care facilities and schools must follow lead-safe work practices,” said Berger.
